♥ Picks Feature - Wedge Heels

To extend my love of wedges, in particular Rubi Shoes' wedge heels, here is a little feature to give you some ideas on how you wear your heels and closed toe shoes. Don't just chuck them on! Add some style and think about other ways you can wear them. Especially in Winter, layers are awesome.

Glassons: Lace trim ankle socks.
Sussan: Black flower embroidery
Sussan: Metallic glitter boot socks
Boot Socks: Sussan
Stockings: Sussan
Wedges: Rubi Shoes

Outfit #1 - Pencil skirts & Knits

So for Outfit Week #1 - July, I wanted to showcase a particular couple of trends at the moment and a few of the stores that you can get the products from. I decided to keep it really simple to start and it's more about the product anyway. So this month it's all about pencil skirts and knits, kinda 50's and 60's influence. I love pencil skirts but it's important to get the right fit, and the ones from Sussan are such good quality.

The best knits have got to be from Glassons, and they have a huge variety of colours. I personally love the red and the v-neck. Great selection of coloured wedges from Rubi Shoes, where they have blue, yellow, black, beige, red, and others. Really simple and timeless.

The Wardrobe - Outfit Week #1 July
So I love cute things as you have probably noticed! My obsession goes right down to the last detail. I have a slightly eclectic sense of what I like, and for this outfit I liked the idea of the white stockings with the glitter socks over the top. I love heels and socks and in Winter it's an especially great combination. If you would like to know where to find awesomely opaque white tights (they are one of my staples) Farmers is the best place. For only $11.99 last I checked. This outfit is pretty standard day wear, but replace your knit with a tuxedo jacket, and you're good to go for a meeting or after work drinks.

The scarf, skirt, blouse, and socks are all from Sussan.

♥ Fav Picks Feature - Winter

So I saw the cutest set - scarf and hat from eQUIP, and it also comes in cream. I couldn't resist sharing, here's the black set and some photos for ya. There are a few cute little stores in the city that stock all sorts of 'animal' hats but this one is simple and nice and warm.

Opshop Shopping

So I went opshop shopping actually not intentionally, it was for a fancy dress party. I found this cute little cardigan for $10 at Savemart in New Lynn!

I thought the pearls around the edge were really sweet, they have just been sewn in individually along the neckline, and the rest is pretty standard. Plus it's super warm and fluffy. Here's a sketch for how I envisioned it to be worn.

I love feminine pieces ♥

♥ Fav Picks DIY Lace Shirt

One of the first new features for The Wardrobe in July is a new creation called 'Fav Picks' where I'll show you bits and pieces I have spotted at all your local stores, and how to wear them, tips and tricks, or just cute little pics! Here are some of my favourites so far:

DIY Lace Shirt
This was the first mini project I worked on, I took an old shirt and added a lace trim to the pocket (right) and on the collar with a hot glue gun. It's really simple and washable too. It's the easy way if you're too lazy to sew!

I took off the original buttons and added a mix up of weird and interesting styles of new buttons to the front to give it some interest. This shirt would be cute dressed with a little lace skirt, a simple t-shirt and some simple statement heels.
You can buy a shirt like this from Kmart, and get the buttons and lace from either Spotlight (That's where I got this lace) or Geoff's Emporium.

Now you can add lace to just about anything, and very soon I will do a tutorial on how to sew lace trimmed socks (super cute! ♥) it's a little trickier because the stitching has to stretch, and there are a few ways you can do it so stay posted!

Jewelry Tree - From Sussan
Now this amazing little tree is quite small and has a soft white velvet covering it on all the branches, which means that when you hang your pretties on it they stay! This tree is best for rings, and can store lots of them, which is perfect for fashion addicts like me.
