Outfit of the Week #6

Spring! How I love spring. The blossoms and overwhelming choice of flowers is everywhere. This week Danielle and I photographed with a beautiful set of cherry trees. The blossoms were amazing!

This lovely lady is a beautiful and talented friend of mine, she has also photographed for The Wardrobe! All the props are her own, which inspired this shoot - a collection of unique vintage items. I particularly love her wooden bunny, and her bike earring. The lip colour is a lush lip tint I recently bought - the colour is amazing, and although it doesn't stay on too well it is amazing for photographic work. We shot this at the Auckland Domain on a summer afternoon and it was very hot! Danielle has never modelled before, but I think she makes a spectacular model. We called this shoot: Gothic Lolita.

Outfit of the Week #5. Sweet Gothic

This week's outfit was photographed in Parnell, a large historical mansion on Parnell Rise. The architecture is amazing, and I fell in love with the cobblestones on the driveway. I went for a classic gothic look, with red, white and black. This time I really tried to make the most of the amount of space we had, and captured a number of wide angle images for that epic feeling.

Styling Session #1. Jessica Reaburn

This styling session we transformed Jessica with a little magic from makeup artist & hair stylist Wanja Carree, and clothing from our favourite stores. I absolutely love lots of colour - but the rule is to keep colour palettes within 3 shades.
I picked out a range of outfits for her including a casual, formal, and evening wear.

Look #1. Casual Day

Jessica has never modelled before and this was her first time in front of the camera...

We think she did super. Here is a little sample of the outfits we put together for Jessica. Before hand, Jessica resisted the urge to play around with colour! But knowing your colour 'season' can be really helpful - and makes it easy and fast to shop without needing to try things on. Jessica is an Autumn, and I am super jealous of how well she can pull off that citric green!

So many outfits! I bought this amazing clothes rack below for only $12 from Kmart. It;'s perfect for reorganizing your wardrobe, or arranging your outfits for the week. The great thing about it is that it can be taken apart, stored, and transported. I love Kmart.

This outfit I love on Jessica, to accentuate her elegant shoulders and slim figure, I picked this white lacy dress from Dotti. The headband is from Equip. Bangle is from Cotton On. Wanja added a red lip, smokey eye and this is perfect for any night out! Shoes are from Hannahs.

From a night out to work! This outfit is from Portmans, with accessories from Dotti
Jessica has a slight olive skin tone and so pastels look amazing on her. Keeping makeup minimal but brightning and eyes and cheeks is a easy way to let your style speak for itself. Just love that mint blue!

Now go and inject some colour into your own wardrobe!

Outfit of the Week #4.

Spring is in the air. This pretty tree by my house was blooming and looked amazing, so of course I had to get some photographs by it. It was right next to the main road so we had lots of randoms screaming unintelligible comments out of their windows... The shirt is actually my mum's and I liked the idea of having a narrative to these photographs, as you can wear the outfit so many ways.
