Full Bloom

I adore flowers, and nothing gets me more excited than spring. Here in the winter gardens early spring is an amazing rainbow of colour and so it was the perfect place for this full bloom wonderland.  Keep an eye out for a little tutorial on how I put together the gorgeous little glitter bottle necklaces, I stumbled across them in none other than Kmart! The stockings are one of a kind, literally because I only made one pair about a year ago. I love them to bits, and they are embroidered by hand.

Pure

Nothing is more on trend at the moment than white on white. This forest frolic was shot at the Auckland Domain. I fell in love with the lace ears and matching lace dress, both from Dotti. I thought a bouquet of flowers would add a little colour and this look was put together one afternoon in early spring, it was definitely colder than it looks!

Veronica B has recently teamed up with The Chandler to create this gorgeous set of scented fashion candles! There is a beautiful array of colours to choose from, a total of eight equally tempting choices. The sophisticated deep blue is my favourite.

PIA NZFW 2014 S/S

I was so excited to see this show, PIA boutique is the next big thing in New Zealand fashion and I adore the effortless simplicity in the designs, always with movement and beautiful fabrics. Bold cuts and buzzing prints were throughout the collection, and striking white eyes with pale lips. The collection moved through black and white, aquamarine and muted pastel pinks. The NZ made leather bags are my favourite element of the collection. One more thing for the Christmas wish list!

Le Blanc

Change can be good, in this case the studio was perfect for all the rainy weather we have been having in Auckland! These images were captured in Photographer Mark Leedom's Studio, captured by Dani Lawrence. Deb Tremayne, the very talented makeup artist and hair stylist from 'The Glitter Fix' who did both my hair and makeup for this shoot, with the most gorgeous French roll. This look is part sixties-esque and part minimalist-chic. Simple is best, and in this case better.

NZFW Amber Whitecliffe S/S 2014

I was pretty excited to see this, and of all the new generation designers Amber Whitecliffe made a stand out performance. With an elegant cohesive flow to her collection, her pieces were both classically upbeat and elegantly fun. To sum it up, the use of bold prints, some with a slight spanish twist gave the designs a youthful, fresh feel. In particular the two piece floral set and echoing summer dress in the same fabric. These were some of my favourites. Eloquently done were also the accessories, adding to this fresh summer bouquet with red flowers in the models' hair, and gorgeous gold detail hoop earrings (from Veronica B). Delicate craftsmanship was displayed by Amber Whitecliffe, such as the stunning red wrap dress, simple but unique - and all eyes on the model coming down the runway. Totally wearable, and utterly feminine. Trousers with sheer fabric overlay, added some extra imagination to the collection and a little bit of bold, with the overall impression that there is definitely a little bit of something for every girl here.

50's Baby

Portmans has released their new spring range for 2014, and it's gorgeous! Lots of feminine colours and shapes, this outfit caught my eye with a beautiful full skirt & matching top. I like to wear bold pieces over the top of simple shapes, so this intricate necklace from Collette was the perfect match. I wore the look with items from the recent shoot on Typo's new collection, and the little straw is from The Chocolate Boutique in Parnell, if you would like one for your own. So much fun! So 50's esque.

Diamonds

I got given this gorgeous surprise recently from Veronica B. I love the packaging almost as much as I love the piece itself. Veronica B has also done a recent collaboration with 'The Chandler' a New Zealand hand-made candle maker, creating a sweet little array of candles. A little shoot with The Chandler is coming soon, but in the mean time head over to Veronica B's website: http://www.veronicab.com

Spring Inspiration

This spring is all about pastels and pretty washed colours, so here are a few things to get started. Simple strap wedges are some of my favs, with Hannahs and Andrea Biani selling similar foot candy. The Typo picture box has the perfect images to hang up with a little string and mini pegs!

Hello Kitty!

So I love Typo. It's no secret, my room is full of all things Typo. Here are a few from their recent collection, in all NZ & Australian stores. Not only do I love this aqua colour, but the kitty embellishments on everything is just adorable. The bag is also a very solid make, the perfect spring accessory. Featured below is the adorable kitty iPad case, the Hello Kitty notebook and NYC pen, the milk bottle glasses (which also come in a number of ceramic pastel colours) and the lantern lights. The Kitty doorframe accessory is also super amazingly priced at only $5.99 NZD. Love!

The Red Dress

Autumn days always have beautiful light, overcast skies make it easy to photograph. So me and Dani went to the Auckland Art Gallery to take a few snaps in my new frock from Wildpair, I absolutely adore blood red. I have completed my bat-like ensemble with cat ears, and my very mysterious shawl from Supre. Makeup and hair was done by my good friend and talented MUA Wanja Carree from Wanja's World. I love the copper tones she used in the eye shadow and the colour of the lips. I also recently acquired my first Karen Walker piece, and I have to say I adore her collection of cute symbol rings, mine is a bear - although I initially thought it was a lamb. I have also always had a thing for thigh high socks and will use any excuse to wear them, this outfit is the perfect excuse. And no, the flowers are not real, they were $2 from a little dollar store in West Auckland. Winning.
