Off To The Races

I found the most exquisite backdrop for an amazing dress. Natalie Chan is an incredible New Zealand designer who specialises in bridal wear, and all sorts of outings that can justify a little extravagance. Both the head piece and the dress are hand made by Natalie herself here in Auckland. What a beautiful day it was!

Dark Bunny

Colour is usually everything in an outfit, but black and white can be just as striking. I like to add a little bit of cute to all my looks, and finding this perfect simple backdrop in Auckland CBD complimented the look wonderfully.

Rust

There is so much to say about awesome locations, and interesting textured coloured walls included. This location threw around the richest tones so was perfect for a minimal outfit with white. The perfect out and about outfit.

The Ivy House

This is by far one of my favourite locations to shoot at, and the massive amounts of pretty ivy just add to the ethereal vibe this building has. My sister did a beautiful job of my makeup and hair, little victory rolls. I love exploring so come explore with me...

Lavender Mist

I saw these beautiful Jacaranda trees blooming and had the perfect outfit to match. That school-girl esque vibe is a look I love, and especially with pretty bows and pearls. All of the blooms! The dress is from Farmers, belt from Jacqui-E and my lip colour is MAC...

Vintage Blues

This lovely escapade took place in Mission Bay, I spotted the cutest little building that was perfect for my Portman's outfit. My kind sister did my makeup and hair, and I brought along some hydrangeas in the same shades... enjoy x

Rockabilly

This style feature is with one of New Zealand's own pinup girls Briar, and she is very much in love with the 1950's rockabilly look. The outfit is mostly Briar's own, with accessories from Collette and scarf by Lush. Shoes are from Hannah's and makeup by the very talented Alison Brewer.

Colour Pop

Here is a few pretty pieces of paper candy from Kikki-K, my new obsession.
The To-Do lists, notebooks and notepads all have different coloured and patterned pages, making them fascinating to write on every time you turn a page. Kikki-K also does some really handy things too, jewellery holders and pen holders to put outside your notebooks are just the best!

Little Pink Dress

So I was pretty excited to put this shoot together, especially this flower crown. I picked up the flowers from the flower wholesaler in Mt Wellington, Auckland and I love the simplicity of this. So much pink! I had help putting the flower crown together, using copper wire and starting with the thicker branches as a base and tying a ribbon at the back to secure it. So many pretty things!

Shades of Pink

These pretty pieces are from Collette, and the little silver card holder is just adorable, plus it's perfect for storing just a few cards in for a night out. I think these pieces may be coming up in an outfit post very soon...

The Tattoo Parlour

I am very excited to share this lovely lass with you on the blog. Briar Engel is a down to earth girl who works within the police force by day, and on her own time she dresses in authentic classic, and rockabilly pinup style, with dresses and accessories she buys online. As this girl has epic style, it was only appropriate we put together a style feature for her, and Alison Brewer helped me create the vision. We photographed at the Tattoo Parlour on Ponsonby road, and they kindly let us take over for a minute or two. This is part one of Briar's pinup adventure... with part two and three coming soon x

Tropicana

Summer is upon us, what better way to dress than with all the brights! These accessories and jewellery by Collette are great to wear together and the colours are candy for the eyes. I couldn't resist sharing them.

DIY Glitter Bottle Necklaces

I recently did this shoot above, "Full Bloom" and in it I am wearing three necklaces with different coloured glitter inside clear bottles. I made these and it's super easy! Here are the simple instructions:

You can easily make your own glitter bottle necklaces with a few bits and pieces from your local westfield mall, or your local kmart!
Firstly, get yourself a packet of these 'nail decorations' which are little bottles of glitter inside, the ones at kmart have holes in the top, perfect for threading onto necklaces.
